His Parents Married Life

Zander’s parents met after his mother’s failed engagement with Dean Cain. Zander’s mother, Mindy, met his father Billy, who was an aspiring singer at the time, in December 2003. Their relationship, however, was cut short when Billy was arrested for attempted murder on May 8, 2005, after battering and strangling Mindy. Even though their first relationship was a disaster, they rekindled their love for one another. After their second meeting, Mindy became pregnant with Zander. While Mindy was still pregnant with Zander, she attempted suicide by overdosing on pharmaceuticals. She cut herself once more after he was born. His mother persevered the second time around and eventually divorced him.

Having a Difficult Parent

Zander’s mother was not afraid of getting into trouble and had previously tried suicide. For these reasons, Zander’s legal custody was given to his grandmother and her husband.
