Zack Estrin Died At The Age Of 51

On September 23, Zack Estrin, a well-known producer, and screenwriter died at the age of 51. Estrin’s management company, WME, broke the news, and his family stated that Estrin enjoyed making people laugh and being a part of generating shows that people enjoyed.

The circumstances of Zack Estrin’s death are unknown. According to rumors, he was running on a beach when he suffered a heart attack and died.

Estrin’s family was surprised because they had previously stated that he was in good health. The precise cause of his death has yet to be determined.

Zack Estrin attended the University of Southern California and worked on films such as Stranger Than Fiction and O. In the 1990s, he began his career in television as a producer, working on dramas such as Charmed, Dawson’s Creek, and Tru Calling.

Zack became well-known as a producer on the Fox series Prison Break. He worked on the show as a co-executive producer before being promoted to executive producer.

He created three ABC fantasy series: The Whispers, The River, and Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. Zack was the showrunner and executive producer of Lost in Space, a three-season Netflix drama that aired from 2018 to 2021.

He was also honored for his work on drama shows including The Good Guys and Point Pleasant. According to WME president Ari Greenburg, Estrin was a customer for around 25 years and a mentor to countless authors. Greenburg expressed gratitude for the opportunity to call him a friend.

According to Jon Feldman, who worked on Tru Calling with Estrin,

“Zack was a joy to be around – kind, humorous, generous, and warm.” It’s a heartbreaking loss for those of us who were lucky enough to call him a friend. He wasn’t only a decent man; he was the best.”

According to Matt Olmstead, the showrunner for Prison Break, Estrin was a superb writer who was talented with language and order. Olmstead went on to state that he was a unifier, which demonstrated how kind, helpful, encouraging, and positive he was.

Estrin is survived by his wife Kari Estrin, children Charlotte and Chloe, mother Patricia Estrin, sister Amelia Burstyn, stepbrother Dylan Arrants, and stepsisters Julie List and Laura Humphrey.
