Yrma Lydya

On June 23, 79-year-old Jes Hernández Alocer allegedly shot and killed 21-year-old Mexican musician Yrma Lydya in a restaurant.

Omar Garca Harfuch, Mexico’s security minister, claimed that the lawyer shot Lydya three times. Following the event, Alcocer and another woman who was with him were taken into custody.

Witnesses claimed to have seen a fight break out between a young woman and a man with gray hair. After the argument, the man shot the woman, and it was later discovered that he was Alcocer and that the victim was his wife, Lydya.

Yrma Lydya was supposedly not showing any vital signs when paramedics arrived at the restaurant shortly after the event and tried to revive her. The Mexican singer was shot and died as a result.

While everything was going on, the singer’s 79-year-old husband made an attempt to depart in his car but was stopped by cops. Alcocer even made an attempt to bribe police in order to escape being apprehended. It is important to note that Alcocer has already faced extortion charges.

Every aspect of Yrma Lydya

Yrma Lydya was a well-known musician, dancer, and actor who was born in 2001. Yrma Lydya  was the offspring of renowned Mexican industrialist Carlos Quinones, who established Group Radio Comunicacion, SA in 1960. She started showing an interest in music at a young age, according to sources.

She wasn’t immediately well-known. Her big break occurred in 2017 when she was allowed to play El Viejo del Sombrero alongside Sonora Dinamita of Lucho Again.

Lydya appeared on a special episode of the Canal de las Estrellas for the national holidays. Additionally, she has acted in the movies Bandamax, Noche con Carlos Cuevas, and Reventon Musical. The GranDiosas cast then asked her to take part in a few gigs.

Being a part of GRANDIOSAS is a dream come true for me because singing and learning from these Goddesses is a lovely fantastic privilege that I am now performing. It is an honor for me to share the stage with these great vocalists that I have admired since I was a child.

Lydya collaborated with many different artists throughout her career, and the Mexican Chamber of Deputies even gave her the National Culture Award. She was performing at Grandiosas before she passed away, with other well-known singers including Alicia Villarreal and Mara Conchita Alonso.

According to many sources, there has been an increase in gender-based violence in Mexico, which has resulted in an increase in crime.

When asked about it, President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said that former President Felipe Calderon was to blame. To stop violence, Obrador previously ordered the release of a Sinaloa cartel leader. He noted that his administration has adopted a policy known as “hugs, not bullets” and that it has no plans to jail drug cartel leaders.
