John Andrew Smoltz, a former American baseball pitcher, dominated the big leagues with 200 victories and 150 saves during his career. All of this contributed to his election to the Baseball Hall of Fame and earned him the title of “the most valuable player.”
With his career achievement stretching so far, Smoltz almost missed the success in his marriage due to the difficulties that struck his 16-year marriage.
However, after experiencing love for the second time, he found a second wife, and today he boasts about being the proud father of six kids!

With the promise of a happily ever after, John Smoltz, a Hall of Famer and the man known as “Smoltzie,” married Dyan Struble in 1997. And until they were 16 years old, the couple had been demonstrating how solid their relationship was.
The former couple’s four children included John Andrew Jr., Rachel Elizabeth, Carly Maria, and Kelly Christina.
Smoltz and Struble, however, we’re unable to continue and announced their separation in 2007. Smoltz, Struble’s formerly wonderful husband, bid her farewell alongside their four children. When describing the cause of his divorce, the Warren, United States, native stated in his book,
“I found myself in a situation I profoundly regret, and I honestly never believed I would add to the awful statistics of divorce in professional sports,” the author said.
Smoltz has a strong Christian heritage and is a devout believer, making him a very well-liked public figure. But the Atlantic community that adheres to his ideas seems to feel uneasy after hearing about his divorce.
We’re all just trying to figure out why the Smoltz family took such a significant step after the couple had done so much good together by being involved in the Atlantic Community through the John and Dyan Smoltz Foundation.

Proud Father Of Six Children With a New Wife And Children
Smoltz, however, had never given up on love; in fact, at Taco Mac, he went on a blind date with the mother of two Kathryn Darden. The two exchanged vows at Smoltz’s residence in Alpharetta, Georgia, and wed on May 16, 2009, putting an end to their blind date.
Darden, who is married to a wealthy man worth $60 million, currently resides in Smoltz’s estate, a 19.7-acre mansion the pitcher built at 700 Foxhollow Run in the guard-gated Greystone Community.
Smoltz promised to take some time off to reconnect with himself and steer clear of any relationships despite the fact that he was still inconsolable over his divorce from his ex-wife.
He is a former pitcher, who calls his new wife a “Miracle from God” because she brought about a new beginning and helped him rediscover his faith in love.
Smoltz is making the most of his efforts to ensure a happy family life with Darden for his second marriage. In one of his interviews, he acknowledged that during significant holidays like Christmas or Thanksgiving, he tries to spend as much time as possible with his family. He declared,
“Whenever we can all just come together and enjoy being a family for the moment”
Smoltz, who is now the proud father of six children—two of them are from Kathryn’s previous marriage—is setting new standards for his family life!
