Fox 13 Memphis was the first to report on the rapper’s passing. Later, the 43-year-old musician’s passing was confirmed by DJ Paul via an Instagram post.

According to TMZ, Gangsta Boo’s apparent drug-related death looks to be the cause of the Stay Fly singer’s passing. Additionally, a police inquiry against officials will start soon.

She was at a Memphis performance with her brother, who reportedly needed to be hospitalized after taking too much of something.

Although Gangsta Boo’s brother is unharmed, witnesses to her death claim drugs were found on her person, and a fentanyl-laced substance is thought to be the culprit.

The Both Worlds *69 singers posted a New Year’s Eve performance video on her Instagram less than 24 hours before she went unexpectedly.

The Late Night Tip rapper captioned the image, writing, “Some of the things I completed in 2022! Such a pleasure and productive. I truly emerged from my shell! 2023 be 23’n! The rapper made sure to wish everyone a happy new year.

Additionally, Boo mentioned that she was working on a new project called The BooPrint in an interview with Billboard that was published only last month. She wanted to release it in the first half of 2023.

Gangsta Boo was born on August 7, 1979, in Memphis, Tennessee’s Whitehaven neighborhood. Her middle-class family subsequently relocated to the neighborhood when her mother and father divorced.

The late musician got her start in music as a young woman. In 1994, she became a member of the well-known hardcore band Three 6 Mafia. After K-9, she was the sole female team member.

Mitchell contributed to the first five studio albums and spent eight years working with Three 6 Mafia. Early in the new millennium, she departed the band.

A breakaway group named Da Mafia 6ix was founded in 2013 by Gangsta Boo, DJ Paul, Crunchy Black, Lord Infamous, and Koopsta Knicca. 6ix Commandments was the first mixtape from the new offshoot.

The first mixtape was released in 2014 and was an enormous success, peaking at number 34 on the Billboard Top R&B Album Chart.

A noteworthy solo career was also by Gangsta Boo. Enquiring Minds, her debut album, was released in 1998 and reached its highest position at No. 15 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums list and No. 46 on the Billboard 200.
