The Journalist announced in October 2022 that she was taking a hiatus from her successful self-titled ITV show.

The news came as a complete shock. Therefore, many are baffled by her latest strategy. Everything we’ve learned about it is laid out here.

After leaving her ITV show, what is Lorraine Kelly planning to do next?

Lorraine Kelly discussed her new venture outside of her ITV show in an interview with Express.

She admitted that acting was her true calling and that she hoped to further her acting career beyond her current employment as an ITV host or presenter.

The broadcaster reportedly took time out of her hectic schedule to shoot a documentary, according to the website.

The 62-year-old actor will co-host a Sky History documentary about World War II alongside comedian Harry Hill, actress Liza Tarbuck, and wildlife expert Chris Packham.

The Scottish host usually takes a short break over the summer to see friends and family.

When questioned why she suddenly left the role she had played as the lead since 2010, she said it was to learn more about this “fascinating subject” and try something new.

To record the historical documentary, Lorraine and her crew traveled all around the United Kingdom and southern England.

It is said that while in London, she went to both the Transport Museum and the Imperial War Museum.

The host further stated that she had no intention of quitting her ITV talk program at this time. However, she has stated her desire to produce other nonfiction works.

I enjoy what I do for a living,” she declared. But it’s nice to have more time to go deeply into a topic.

She expressed an interest in learning more about the heroic age of Antarctic exploration (Shackleton), the history of Ancient Rome (particularly from Caesar through Nero), and the cultures of Greenland and Mongolia through a travel show.

Having tested positive for Covid-19 in July 2022, the TV personality was forced to cancel her talk program. After a week of rest, isolation, and a negative test, she went back to her routine.

The host spent a week alone and then went on Instagram to lament her lack of human interaction.

She further stated that her personal experience with the illness was unpleasant. Along with the post, she also sent a photo of her unfavorable lateral flow test result.

She said, “Negative, finally! – a nasty one, but feeling fine now.” Finally, she said, “See you on Monday at 9 am.”

The main host didn’t forget to thank Carol Vorderman, who filled in to host the show for her.

In a comment area, her devoted ITV audience shared their best wishes for her. Many viewers cheered at the sight of Lorraine’s homecoming.
