Kalee Dionne Resigns from Broadcast
Kalee Dionne majored in musical theater at Lincoln College before receiving a BA in radio and television from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale in 2007 and a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University in 2011. She has worked as a weather anchor for stations in Illinois, Alabama, Missouri, and Indiana.
Dionne and her husband Jonathan, as well as their adopted daughter, relocated to Dallas, Texas, in 2019. Since then, she has been a member of the WFAA weather team, providing digital and television forecasts.
Dionne and her family have established a unique presence in the Dallas community in just two years. That’s why WFAA viewers were taken aback when she announced her departure from the station at the end of the year.
In September 2021, the meteorologist issued an initial statement on her official social media pages. Dionne announced that she is leaving not only WFAA but also TV news. Her last day on the air was December 15th.
After 15 years in the industry, Dionne decided to leave broadcast news and the hectic schedules behind. She made the choice in order to spend more time with her husband and daughter.
