What Is Matt Lauer Doing Now?

Matt Lauer

Matt Lauer contract with NBC terminated, Following claims of “inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace,”, bringing his 20 years as co-host of NBC’s Today show to an embarrassing conclusion. The staff note announcing Matt’s resignation was read aloud by a very distraught Savannah Guthrie. Even though this was Matt’s first reported incident, NBC claimed to have “cause to suspect this may not have been an isolated incident.”

After the firing, Lauer’s life came crashing down. Following a contentious divorce with his ex-wife Annette Roque, he gave up a Water Mill horse farm along with $20 million in assets. Let’s examine Matt Lauer’s current personal status. After being accused of sexual assault, Matt Lauer has had trouble reintegrating into society.

What Is Matt Lauer Doing Now?

A few years after being fired from NBC, Matt Lauer was accused of the most serious sexual assault claim ever.

Brooke Nevils, a former coworker at NBC News, accused Matt of anally assaulting her in a hotel room at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. Although Lauer acknowledged having “extramarital, but consenting, sexual contact” with Brooke, he refuted the accusation.

Nevils was revealed to be the unknown woman who had made the accusation that led NBC to fire Matt.

Lauer withdrew to the Hamptons, where he was met with hostility. People have had plenty of opportunities to extend a warm welcome, but it appears that they have permanently closed their doors to Matt, a source informed OK Magazine.

At events, he makes an effort to talk to people, but most of them ignore him. According to a source for OK Magazine,

“He has done everything to regain his place in the community.”

He will show up at upscale events and be incredibly cordial with everyone, but most people just ignore him.  Matt wants to hang out with others who concur that he was treated unfairly. Matt Lauer refuses to interact with anyone who doesn’t share his belief that he was treated unfairly.

He only wants to converse with those who would support him, a source told People. “Lauer still feels railroaded,” says the speaker. He has so lost contact with the majority of his friends.

The person continued,

He isolates himself, he doesn’t engage with people anymore and he’s been losing touch with a lot of people.”

Even though NBC stopped paying Lauer following his firing, his way of living remained almost unchanged. He has been able to continue his opulent lifestyle thanks to his real estate assets and money.

People were shocked to see Matt in a video honoring the Today show’s 70th anniversary. Few anticipated Matt to appear in the 12-minute video in light of his awful parting.

Lauer, though, had four appearances in the video. According to a person who spoke to Page Six, NBC “can’t pretend like he never existed.” According to executive producer Tom Mazzarelli, Matt contributed to the history of the program:

“We’re going to take a look back at our history, and he, like all the anchors over the past 70 years, is a part of it. He will be in view.

Billy Bush, the discredited anchor, was absent despite Tom’s remarks. Bush was let go two months after being hired because a filthy discussion he had with Donald Trump on Access Hollywood was revealed.

Billy’s absence and Matt’s inclusion, according to a source close to Billy who spoke to the New York Post, were criticized. From the source:

Billy was furious because he wasn’t included; everyone else was. Something is seriously wrong when they choose to include Matt Lauer, who was accused of anally raping a teenage employee while on a business trip, but not Billy.

According to reports, he wants to wed his longtime friend and lover Shamin Abas.

Matt has been seeing Shamin Abas for a few years. Before they began dating, the couple had been friends for ten years.

According to a source who spoke to Page Six,

“Matt and Shamin have known each other for many years; she spends a lot of time in the Hamptons, as does he.” They just recently started dating. She is a beautiful woman.

Recently, Matt and Abas went to a party in the Hamptons with Annette, who uncannily resembled Matt’s ex-wife. Roque and Abas’ connection is still a mystery.

According to sources close to the couple, Matt wants to wed Abas. Matt “has been talking to friends about marrying her in a lavish Hamptons wedding,” a source told OK Magazine.

However, considering Matt’s social standing, the ceremony is probably going to be a low-key event. The source continued,

“It’s difficult to imagine there’d be much of a turnout.”
