Uche Ojeh and Sheinelle Jones: Dating, Marriage, and Children

They met in high school when NBC News’ Sheinelle Jones was a freshman and Uche Ojeh was a freshman. Sheinelle, like Uche, attended Northwestern University.

“I was his tour guide, I’m ashamed,” Sheinelle admitted on Today.

“I remember it was a visitation day at Northwestern, and his dad was driving around and they got lost,” Uche continued.

They began talking after they were asked for directions to a specific dorm. The conversation began when Uche’s father asked for directions. She asked him to leave him with her so she could show him around campus.

On September 1, 2007, the couple married and welcomed three children: Kayin, Clara, and Uche Jr. Sheinelle was on maternity leave when she was involved in an accident that nearly killed her. She was exhausted from caring for her children at home.

Furthermore, Sheinelle was holding Clara in her arms and walking down their home’s spiral staircase in sock-clad feet. She slipped and fell down the stairs, landing at the bottom. Even though she was not seriously injured, she had a bruise on his back.
