Tyler was up in a home full of actors and musicians. His father, John Ritter, was a well-known actor, and his brother, Jason, is also an actor; his grandfather, Tex, was a well-known country singer. Tyler spent his whole life in Los Angeles, and he, like his father, grew up with the desire of being an actor.

Tyler had several roles in high school and acted in several student films, but when his father died unexpectedly on September 11, 2003, Tyler was devastated and decided not to continue a career in acting. He enrolled in the University of Pennsylvania and graduated in 2007, becoming a teacher rather than pursuing his goals of becoming an actor, and thus pushed that concept aside.

Lelia is an Argentine film director, and she was the one who encouraged Tyler to return to Los Angeles and pursue his aspirations of becoming an actor, as she could see he was really enthusiastic about it and hadn’t pursued it simply because of his father’s death. He hasn’t mentioned any ladies he may have dated prior to Lelia since he doesn’t want to make his wife envious.

He began his career with minor appearances on “Modern Family” and “Grey’s Anatomy” before landing the character for which he is most known today – Ronny McCarthy, the star of “The McCarthys,” a 2014 sitcom. Tyler played Ronny, a gay son in a family of six, and based on the written reviews, he did an excellent job in this part.

Tyler appeared in a single episode of the US police procedural TV series “NCIS” in 2015 as Abby Sciuto’s brother; he also appeared in an episode of “NCIS: New Orleans.”

Although he was out of the spotlight for a while due to a lack of big parts, Tyler returned to the spotlight in 2016 after securing roles in the comedy TV series “Young and Hungry” and as Detective Billy Malone in the hit CW series “Arrow.”
Tyler’s most recent roles were in the 2018 TV series “The Good Doctor,” in which he portrayed George Reynolds in the sole episode “Empathy,” and in the 2018 film “Stillwater,” in which he played Dawson.

“The McCarthys” TV comedy “The McCarthys” American sitcom was produced by Brian Gallivan alongside Mike Sikowitz, Will Gluck, Richard Schwarz, and Andy Ackerman, and was made for CBS Television Studios and Sony Pictures Television, with the first episode aired on CBS in 2014.

Tyler Ritter plays Ronny, who is absolutely uninterested in athletics, although his two brothers in the show are both unhappy with their father since they are both incredibly athletic and were looking forward to being chosen by their father.
