Tricia worked as a seminar leader at the B.E. Witkin Judicial College of California in addition to her job as a lawyer. She went on to become a teacher, Associate Dean, and finally Dean of the Judicial College.

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed her to the Court of Appeal as a Presiding Justice Bigelow in 2008. In 2010, she was appointed as the Presiding Justice of Division 8.Throughout her career, Tricia has received numerous honors, including the 2014 Judge of the Year and the 2015 Justice Bernard Jefferson Award.
