Trey Sermon began his professional career at an early age. As a true freshman in 2017, Sermon started three games and appeared in all 14. This season, he carried for 744 yards and five touchdowns on 121 attempts. As a sophomore in 2018, he split time with Kennedy Brooks, running for 947 yards on 164 runs and 13 touchdowns. Trey played in nine games as a junior in 2019, gaining 385 yards and four touchdowns on 54 attempts.

Trey is a 2020 graduate student at Ohio State University. Sermon’s 331 yards rushing against Northwestern University in the 2020 Big Ten Championship Game were the most by an Ohio State athlete in a single game and the most ever in a Football Bowl Subdivision championship game. He was named the game’s MVP.

Sermon rushed for 193 yards and a score while catching four passes for 61 yards in a 49-28 Sugar Bowl victory over Clemson in 2021. Trey got injured on the first play of the National Championship Game against Alabama in 2021 and did not return. The sermon was chosen by the San Francisco 49ers in the third round (88th overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft.
