Before joining ABC, she was the morning and noon weather anchor at WRIC-TV in Richmond, where she worked from 1992 to 1993. Previously, she worked as the top weather anchor at WFMJ-TV in Youngstown from 1988 to 1991. In 2013, she and her co-director, Scott Woodruff, launched a golf excursion dubbed The Duke Classic in remembrance of long-time ABC 7 cinematographer Michael Dukewich, who died in 2012.

The program also raised $60,000, which was donated to the Greater Chicago Food Depository and the Wounded Warrior Project. She is a die-hard golf enthusiast. In general, she makes time to play golf and frequently participates in charitable golf programs.
