Thoms stated, “Rosario was kissing me on the cheek, and I was making a kissy face, so the photographer was in the ideal position, in an interview with Chattify in October 2011. However, the angle at which the photo was taken makes it appear that we are kissing one another on the lips.
She was also worried about how she would be portrayed in the media if the picture became widely circulated. “They don’t specify whether or not I’m gay.
My sexual orientation is of no importance to them, she continued. Then, after emphasizing her straightness and criticizing the media for making a huge deal out of a misconstrued photograph without ever knowing the whole story, she reiterated her straightness.
With this assertion, Thoms effectively denied ever dating Dawson. Although the interview never went viral, unlike the photo, many people continue to think she was in a romantic relationship with Dawson. Her performances in movies and on television have left her with lingering queer suspicions.
She is well-recognized for frequently playing lesbian characters, which may add to the confusion regarding her sexual orientation. Thoms, on the other hand, takes pleasure in playing this kind of roles. Instead, she takes pride in herself.

Thoms was an equal rights advocate, but he overreached. During a conversation in May 2021, Tami Roman disclosed a second partner. This happened when she was still pursuing a bachelor’s in fine arts at Howard University.
Her partner was a business student who was being pursued by numerous companies to work for them. He was given a considerable deal of theater tickets, especially for the 1997 and 1998 smash musical Rent.
They thus saw Rent in a group, and she developed a strong emotional connection to the play. That marked the start of her relationship with Rent, which ultimately resulted in her being given a role in the movie.
