How did Trace start his Professional Career?

When Trace McSorley first began playing high school football, he was a freshman at Briar Woods High School. In his first season, he led the group to a 13-2 record and a state championship.

During his junior year, he led the group to a 15-0 record and its third consecutive state title. Virginia Preps and the Virginia Coaches Association both awarded first-team all-state accolades.

He was selected as the second-team quarterback for the region and first-team offensive player of the year for the Dulles District. After that, he made an appearance in a total of six games, five of which were when he had just a few minutes left to play in an already-playing game.

His team, Penn State, was defeated 24-3 by the Georgia Bulldogs in the 2016 TaxSlayer Bowl. His squad attempted a comeback later in the game, going 14 for 27, but ultimately fell short 24-17.

The New York Jets selected Christian Hackenberg in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, and he was later designated the team’s starting quarterback. He was a senior when he graduated and qualified for the NFL Draft in 2019.

Additionally, the Baltimore Ravens selected him with the 197th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He didn’t play in the NFL for the first time until Week 17 of the 2019 campaign against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He was still the team’s third-string quarterback, therefore the organization put him on the reserve/COVID-19 list for the 2020 campaign.

Trace entered the game after backup quarterback Griffin left with a hamstring injury in the fourth quarter. He was then reinstated to the practice squad of the Baltimore Ravens after being fired on August 31, 2021.
