The Drag Queen Bob Claims That Her Voice Has Not Changed

Drag Queen

Since her unexpected victory on RuPaul’s Drag Race, Bob the Drag Queen has endured significant life changes, including a throat procedure about which she has been open.

Christopher Caldwell, the drag queen’s real name, first appeared on RuPaul’s Drag Race in the ninth season. Ru and the crowd were won over by Bob’s infectious charm and comedic skills. Before winning the overall championship, she triumphed in three challenges.

She gave a $100,000 cash prize and announced the winner of “America’s Next Drag Superstar” on May 16, 2016. After her major victory, the drag queen’s life has undergone a significant adjustment.

She hosted the HBO reality program We’re Here, which featured Eureka O’Hara and Shangela, two former RuPaul’s Drag Race champions. In her Get Out interview, the winner revealed that she had also undergone throat surgery.

Bob the Drag Queen Undergoes Throat Surgery

The drag performer underwent surgery in late 2021. She talked about her life after the treatment rather than the grounds for her decision. Bob acknowledged that she only shaved her beard before performing but claimed that she looked different since she hadn’t been taking care of herself.

But this was because she was recovering from a throat operation. She responded, “Well, not yet,” when asked how she felt about her new voice. Although I’m still healing, I can speak. To be quite honest, I’m a little afraid to discover the limits of my voice.

A fellow drag queen, Trixie Mattel, revealed on her blog, Unpaid Spokeswomen, that Bob’s voice had changed as a result of the procedure. She had just undergone throat surgery, so instead of her usual pack-a-day gruff mutter, she welcomed me in her new, immaculately clear mezzo-soprano, the author said.

In order to quell everyone’s intrigue regarding her new voice once she had recovered, the drag queen went on Instagram Live while applying makeup. She reiterated that it had not changed considerably.

Bob and co-host Monét X Change of the podcast Sibling Rivalry also talked about the voice change. Bob said that she enjoyed her new voice a lot but that the post-surgery period of not talking was difficult.

The drag queen alleged that her two lovers, Jacob Ritts and Ezra Michel, could only communicate with her through lip reading and hand signals because she was not allowed to talk after receiving therapy. However, Michel and Ritts were so terrible that Bob occasionally grew agitated and yelled.

I made several attempts to speak to Jacob and Ezra, but they were unable to read my lips. Bob stated, “I tried to tell Jacob I loved him, but he didn’t get it. I pointed at my eye, then my heart, then at him, but he was like, ‘U need me to fetch you water or anything.

The Drag Race winner eventually shouted “I love you” at him. Monét X Change reprimanded Bob, saying that since her lips were “so huge,” it was undoubtedly her responsibility.
