SVU: Is David Graziano Departing? What had become of him?

The current showrunner of the venerable series Law & Order: SVU, David Graziano, has been charged with bullying, erratic conduct, and sexism.

Concerns about his future in the criminal drama program have arisen due to the claims of workplace misbehavior.

According to a Los Angeles Times article from Thursday, December 8, more than a dozen of Graziano’s coworkers have accused him of treating them unfairly at work.

He is alleged to have made offensive remarks about women and people of color as well as disrespectful gestures and irate outbursts at lower staff members.

Just before the popular N.B.C. show’s 24th season, in June 2022, Graziano was appointed as the showrunner. But the debate quickly followed.

N.B.C. and Wolf Entertainment, owned by Dick Wolf, have not responded to the situation. If Graziano is leaving SVU is unknown.

What Accusations Are Made Against David Graziano?

Haley Cameron, the writing coordinator, left the series not long after David Graziano took over as SVU’s showrunner.

According to The Times, allegations against Graziano started to circulate on a business listserv when a job seeking a script coordinator appeared.

Cameron urged readers to exercise caution before placing themselves in a situation “that could end as badly as hers did,” writing that the new showrunner, David Graziano, “is very unprofessional, ego-centric, and immature.”

Likewise, Amy Hartman, who worked with Graziano as a script coordinator on the crime thriller Coyote, apparently posted on the same listserv that “Graz is super toxic” and advised others to avoid it.

Numerous more coworkers have accused Graziano of acting in a similar or related manner. It was “without a doubt the worst job I have ever had in Hollywood,” according to James, who also served as the screenplay coordinator for Coyote.

He said, “I don’t think anyone’s going to give Graziano another show to run,”

In addition, numerous complainants testified under the condition of anonymity out of concern for their reputations or livelihoods.

Response from David Graziano, Where Is He Now?

David Graziano said in a statement that he was “a difficult person to work with” during the making of Coyote.

The 50-year-old said that he was in discomfort and in a bad way at the time due to three of his neck discs having compressed.

Graziano, however, refuted claims that he made offensive remarks about women or people of race. He continued by saying that he only mentioned such subjects while developing storylines for the show.

He spoke of the abuse he endured at the hands of a Catholic priest and his mother as a youngster, but he said he would not place the guilt for his previous actions on them.

Graziano went on to say that for the sake of the program, he could learn a lot from his past experiences and personal life. Real transformation is difficult, and I continue to improve myself every day, he said.

What he is doing right now is unknown. He doesn’t allow comments on his postings on Instagram, where he only publishes infrequently.
