On July 29 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT, WE Tv will debut Super Sized Salon, a brand-new reality series. The program will feature a unique beauty salon for plus-sized people.
The movie was recorded at the renowned Babydoll Beauty Couture hair salon in Las Vegas and features a variety of plus-sized clientele brazenly exploiting every salon perk.
For its viewers, Super Sized Salon’s first season will be more than just a salon show. Instead, the show will have gripping drama centered on seasoned hairdressers at a salon. They will engage in a variety of personal and professional disagreements, but they must keep giving their customers the best possible service.
As rising tensions among stylists lead to blow-outs, can Babydoll Beauty Couture Salon work together to make women of all sizes feel and look beautiful?
The show’s featured salon, Babydoll Beauty Couture, has been preaching body acceptance since 2012, therefore viewers should be aware of this.
Women of all sexes are welcome at the salon, which is run by makeup artist Jamie Lopez. Jamie Lopez, according to a Cosmopolitan article, was tired of how the beauty industry treated her differently due to her size. Additionally, many salons demand extra fees for “overweight” clientele. In an interview with Yahoo Beauty, Jamie gave the following justification for opening a body acceptance salon:
“I was inspired by the fact that there was nowhere in Vegas where I could get my nails or hair done that would fulfill my needs as a plus-size woman, and I thought it was time to make some changes for the plus-size ladies of the world,” the woman claims.
Lopez founded Babydoll Beauty Couture in Los Angeles because she wanted to completely change the narrative of the industry. She also opened a new shop in Las Vegas in 2017.
Five various salon specialists from the salon will also take part in the Super Sized Salon initiative. It depicts Astra, dubbed “Funky Chunky,” who cheers up her stylist team with her upbeat and supportive approach, assisting them in remaining positive while dealing with challenging conditions.
Then there is A-Love, the holistic hair care specialist, who often keeps her staff with a pleasant attitude but when she loses her temper, nobody can escape her rage. A close friend of Lopez, 007, also serves as the salon’s in-house stylist. She excels at giving her clients the sexiest plus-size intimates and one-of-a-kind bling jobs while being fiercely protective of Lopez.
Taj is a well-known hairdresser and cosmetics artist who serves as the team’s level-headed, pragmatic “mother bear.” She serves as the salon manager’s deputy in place of Jamie Lopez. Finally, BB is the aesthetician and makeup artist who is truthful and tells it like it is.
Sam Brown, Todd Lubin, Pam LaLima, Jay Peterson, and Matador Content of Boat Rocker are the executive producers of Super Sized Salon for WE tv. Executive producers for WE tv include Kari McFarland and Lauren P. Gellert. On July 29 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT, Super Sized Salon will make its television debut on We Tv.
