Steve and Maria Spagnuolo have been married since 2005 and are still together. On July 9th, 2005, they married in the Vatican in Rome, Italy. Steve Spagnuolo- Professional Career

Steve began his professional NFL coaching career in 1999 with the Philadelphia Eagles as linebackers and defensive backs coach. He served with the organization for nearly eight years before being named as the defensive coordinator by the New York Giants under head coach Tom Coughlin in January 2007. After a year, on February 7, 2008, Steve signed a new three-year contract worth nearly $2 million per year, making him one of the highest-paid defensive coordinators in the NFL. Steve signed a four-year, $11.5 million contract with the St. Louis Rams after the 2008 season. The first season saw St. Louis post the worst record in franchise history, going 1-15. The squad improved to 7-9 in 2010 and then 2-14 in 2011, finishing with the league’s poorest record. In 2012, he was let go.

Later, Steve became the head coach of the New Orleans Saints, and the next season, the team had the most defensive yards in NFL history, leading to Steve’s firing on January 24, 2013. Before rejoining the Giants, Steve worked for the Baltimore Ravens as a senior defensive assistant for the 2013 season, and owing to his success, he was elevated to secondary coach in 2014. Spagnuolo rejoined the New York Giants as a defensive coordinator in 2015, and owing to the team’s outstanding record, he was named interim head coach of the Giants. After two years as the coach, he was not retained by head coach Pat Shurmur, and Steve joined the Kansas City Chiefs in 2019. Spagnuolo won his second championship in Super Bowl LIV after the season finished.
