Son Na-eun, an idol singer, has announced his departure from Apink just days before the group’s 11th anniversary. Son has experimented with acting in addition to being a member of the girl group, making her debut in 2012 with the Sageuk drama The Great Seer. YG Entertainment has just signed the artist as an actor. Fans believe the idol’s abrupt departure from the group was owing to her demanding acting schedule.
Son Na-eun has announced her resignation from Apink
Son Nae-eun announced her intention to leave the group in a heartfelt Instagram post on April 8, 2022. Following the tweet, the news was confirmed by IST Entertainment, the female group’s agency. They stated:
“Son Na-eun decided she could no longer participate in Apink activities due to scheduling issues.” She has already spoken with her group as well as the two entertainment companies, IST and YG Entertainment.”
The idol’s entire (translated) letter reads,
“I worried a lot about how I should say this, and I’m still scared as I type these words,” she says. “I’m leaving Apink, where I’ve been for the past 11 years.”
The singer revealed how painful it is for her to leave the band that she has called home for the past 11 years.
“Because Apink is like family to me, with whom I have spent a long time, I made this difficult decision after much thought, and while it wasn’t an easy decision, I intend to become a Panda and cheer for Apink from now on.”
The Dinner Mate actor thanked her fellow cast members as well as the IST personnel.
She stated, ”
“The members… Chorong, Bomi, Eunji, Namjoo, Hayoung… the many people who have worked hard for Apink since the beginning, including the IST staff, and the fans, who are the most precious of all: there is no way to express all of my feelings as I reflect on the times we’ve spent together until now and our memories.”
Son Na-eun ended with a touching commitment that moved everyone to tears.
“I will inscribe “Apink’s Son Na-eun” in my heart, and I believe by showing you greater things in the future to avoid doing shame to that name is one way I can repay you.” Please send Apink a lot of love and know that I will be rooting for them all the way.”
Furthermore, the singer-actor was the only member who did not extend her contract with IST Entertainment, which raised many eyebrows. After signing with YG Entertainment, Son Na-Eun sat out the promotional activities for the girl group’s reunion in February. Following the announcement, IST Entertainment stated that Apink would continue to market as a five-member group.
The agency wished the actress luck in her future pursuits and stated,
“Apink will reorganize and continue promotions as a five-member group, beginning with their upcoming 11th-anniversary fan song, which will be released on April 19 and will feature Park Chorong, Yoon Bomi, Jung Eun Ji, Kim Namjoo, and Oh Hayoung.” Son Na-activities eun’s with the group are finished, and they will cheer each other on from their own routes.”
Meanwhile, the group’s head, Park Chorong, congratulated Na-Eun on Instagram with a handwritten note.
