Skylar Thompson was born in Palmyra, Missouri, on June 4, 1997. He is the son of the late Brad Thompson and Teresa Thompson. Thompson has three siblings and a stepmother, Katherine Burns. Eric is his older brother, Ashley is his older sister, and Anthony is his younger brother.

Teresa, Skylar’s mother, was diagnosed with stage-four breast cancer when he was six years old. His family had been told that chemotherapy would not help her recover, but they refused to give up.
