Sara Blakely began her career as a regular employee at Walt Disney World in Florida, as well as a stand-up comedian. She also worked in Danka’s supply department before being promoted to national sales trainer. In 2005, she competed in the reality show The Rebel Billionaire, finishing second, and was later invited to serve as a judge on the American Investor show. Her company began to thrive, with sales in the millions of dollars, and by 2012, she was on the cover of Forbes magazine as the youngest billionaire. In 2013, she was ranked 93rd on the list of the Times 100 most influential people. Recently, after her company was valued at $1.2 billion, she surprised each of her employees with two plane tickets to their dream destinations as well as $10,000 in perks to commemorate the occasion.
