Ryan Reynolds Grants The Dying Desire Of Fan Jay Fear

Ryan Reynolds

Ryan Reynolds described being “moved to tears” after meeting a “remarkable” Wrexham supporter with terminal appendix cancer. 45-year-old Jay Fear, who was diagnosed with cancer in January, met his hero at Wrexham’s Racecourse stadium, where his team gained promotion to the Football League.

The protagonist of Deadpool gave him a glove from the film and arranged for him to visit the set of the third installment.

Mr. Fear from Southampton stated that his family would always recall it.

Reynolds stated,

“It was incredible meeting Jay. I question if I would experience the same unwavering happiness if our roles were reversed.”

“He is a remarkable individual and his family is amazing. I got a little caught up while speaking with him and sensing how much his children and wife will miss him.”

Reynolds promised to organize their meeting after learning of Mr. Fear’s dying wish to meet him and the Wrexham team.

Mr. Fear stated on BBC 5 Live’s Sunday Breakfast,

“They always say you should never meet your idol, but this man is certainly an exception.”

The encounter was arranged by the charity Bucket List Wishes, which stated,

“This wish was the most difficult, required the most volunteer hours, and cost the most in our nearly ten years of granting wishes.”

Mr. Fear became a fan of Wrexham after viewing the Disney+ documentary Welcome to Wrexham, which chronicles Reynolds and fellow actor Rob McElhenney’s takeover of the club.

Mr. Fear, his wife, and their children have been whisked away from their Southampton home to Wrexham to meet Reynolds and witness the 3-1 victory over Boreham Wood, which earned Wrexham a 15-year return to the English Football League.

Also, Mr. Fear stated that the actor spoke with him and his family for twenty minutes and gave them a glove from the second Deadpool film that was signed.

Ryan Reynolds also invited Mr. Fear to Pinewood Studios to observe the next installment’s filming.

Mr. Fear told Reynolds,

“I really hope I’ll be able to see Deadpool 3 when it’s released.

“He said, ‘Well, we’re filming in six weeks, so why don’t we bring you people to London? Yes, let’s make that a reality.

“I was like…. ‘please’.”

Mr. Fear added,

“People may believe that everything was for me.

“This is actually for [my family], as they are the ones who will remember what occurred for the remainder of their lives.

“I can only hope this is a memory they will never forget.”
