Peter Kay Tour: O2 Priority And Three ticket Presales Are Overwhelmed By Demand

Peter Kay

Many fans are unable to access the applications and websites that provide access to pre-sale tickets due to the “unprecedented” demand for tickets to witness Peter Kay’s first tour in 12 years.

However, customers of O2, Virgin Media, and Three were given access two days ahead of the general public on Saturday.

The demand for priority tickets was “by far the greatest we’ve ever seen in 15 years,” according to O2, Virgin, and Three.

The comedian’s calendar has recently been expanded with several new events. With more than 1.2 million spectators, Kay set a record for the largest-selling stand-up comedy tour in 2010.

Peter Kay was scheduled to tour in 2017, but he postponed those performances due to “unforeseen family difficulties.”

With his upcoming tour, which is scheduled to launch in Manchester on December 2, he might surpass his record.

On Thursday, some fans said they had no access to the necessary apps; others lamented that they had gotten to the front of the line only to learn that pre-sale tickets had run out; still, others claimed they had been permitted to choose tickets but not complete the transaction.

“We’re witnessing unprecedented demand for Peter Kay tickets & we know a lot of you can’t get priority,” the jointly owned O2 and Virgin wrote on Twitter.

We apologize; we’re working on it. The demand for priority tickets is at its highest level in 15 years, so we ask for your patience. Keep checking as the presale only lasts for 48 hours.

“We are seeing lots of priority tickets being sold,” the business continued.

“We’re witnessing a big demand for Peter Kay tickets and we’re aware that many of you can’t access the Three + app this morning,” read a statement on the Three account. We’re making as much progress as we can!

The presale is active for 48 hours, and customers will be notified when the app is back online.

The show’s promoter, SJM, issued the following statement: “We’d like to acknowledge and apologize for several technical difficulties customers had while attempting to purchase tickets for Peter Kay’s upcoming live tour via the O2 Priority pre-sale earlier today.

“SJM Concerts would like to reassure customers that significant preparations have been made for the major ticket on sale this Saturday, December 12, at 10 am.

Please be patient and only purchase from the authorized ticket retailers indicated on the attached link as there will be plenty of tickets available throughout the day.

People require amusement. New dates were added in locations like Manchester, Leeds, and Birmingham in response to the demand.

Even before his tickets went on sale, Kay said he had been “overwhelmed” by the response when he appeared on Zoe Ball’s BBC Radio 2 breakfast show on Wednesday.

The Boltonian claimed he believed the popularity was because tickets start at £35 without booking costs, which is the same price as it was for his 2010 tour.

People need a chuckle because of the difficult circumstances, he remarked, so you have to meet them halfway.

“I believe that is why it got on the news because it was something cheerful for once, and not doom and gloom,” the speaker said.

In addition to touring the UK, Kay will make history as the first comedian to be offered a residency at London’s O2 arena, where he will play once per month from December 2022 to November 2023.
