He was immediately taken to the hospital, but he was later pronounced brain dead. His family eventually decided to remove his life support equipment, which they announced on March 19. Sophie Grant, Grant’s daughter, told The Sun that she was heartbroken to hear the news and described her father as an icon. She went on to say that he made everyone laugh and that he was an Arsenal fan. Sophie also stated:

“I’m heartbroken… No child deserves to have their father taken from them… He was well-known and popular. He was taken from us far too soon.”

Maria, Grant’s partner, expressed her grief as well, saying that Paul was the light of her life and the best guy she had ever met. She continued, saying:

“He brought my existence to a close. Without him, life will never be the same.”

Paul Grant became well-known as a result of his roles in two well-known films

Paul Grant is best known for his portrayal of Ewok in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, which was released in 1983. He later played a demon in the first Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, released in 2001. Grant appeared in a few other films, including Labyrinth and The Dead, and served as an action double in Ridley Scott’s Legend in 1985.

He also did stunts in another film, Willow. Since his divorce from Janet Crowson, Grant has been open about his addictions to alcohol, narcotics, and women. He was 47 years old when he told The Sunday Mirror that Janet had duped him several times. He went on to say that after their marriage ended, he needed help because he had developed a drug, alcohol, and smoking addiction.

Following his death, one of his acquaintances told The Sun:

“He was a nice guy.” He was a gifted performer who battled substance and alcohol abuse. He addressed himself as “King of the Dwarfs.” It breaks my heart.”

In 2014, Paul Grant told the Sunday Mirror that he had a family but had lost everything following his marriage and divorce. He lived on the streets after his divorce, selling his car to buy booze and narcotics. Finally, he was taken in by Chloe McCarthy and her partner. According to Chloe, Paul used to consume any narcotics that were available to him. His drug problems impacted his playing career as well, as he was no longer being hired in other parts at the time.
