Ondřej Palát- Professional Career

Ondrej Palát began ice hockey games while being a Czech Republic native and playing for HC Frdek-Mustek. Before turning professional in North America, he appeared in numerous important junior hockey games for the QMJHL. Later, he was taken as the 208th pick in the 7th round of the 2011 NHL Draft.

Lightning signed Ondrej to a three-year contract as his entry-level contract on October 10, 2011. Later, from 2011 to 2012, he played professionally for the Lightning with Tampa Bay’s American Hockey League-affiliated Norfolk Admirals. He would go on to set a record by posting 28 straight games while playing for the AHL and the Admirals.

On the other hand, during his time with the franchise, the Admirals won the Calder Cup as AHL champions. After one season with the Admirals, he spent the next season in the AHL with the Syracuse Crunch, Tampa Bay’s new AHL affiliate, from 2012 to 2013.
