The attack at Pratt-Korbel’s Dovecot family home was directed at a 35-year-old gang member with past convictions for drug trafficking and burglary.

Pratt-Korbel was there throughout the attack with her mother. Pratt-Korbel was shot in the ribs, and the gunman’s bullet also passed through her mother’s wrist.

To understand more about Olivia Pratt Korbel’s parents and other information, let’s read the article.

O. Pratt Korbel’s Father John Francis Pratt and Mother Cheryl Korbel are the parents

Olivia Pratt Korbel was reared by her parents, John Francis Pratt and Cheryl Korbel. She was killed at her home on the evening of August 22, 2022.

Her mother, Cheryl Korbel, was 46 years old at the time of the occurrence. Olivia had an elder brother and a sister who lived with her in Liverpool, North West England.

In the courtroom, there were gasps and cries as Thomas Cashman was sentenced. Cheryl Korbel, Olivia Pratt Korbel’s mother, later referred to her emotions as “ecstatic.”

Throughout the almost four weeks of the trial, the upset mother regularly visited court. Leaving Manchester Crown Court, Ms. Korbel carried a pink teddy bear.

Cashman, according to Merseyside Police, was “not worthy of wandering the streets.”

Thomas, who was also found guilty of harming Ms. Korbel, trying to murder Joseph Nee, and possessing weapons that endanger life, will be sentenced on Monday.

Cashman apparently began weeping in the dock after the hearing. When the guilty party is sentenced on Monday, he may get at least 30 years.

Description of the Case

On August 22, 2022, at approximately 10 o’clock, Pratt-Korbel’s mother, Cheryl Korbel, who lives in Kingsheath Avenue, Dovecot, heard a noise and opened her front door while carrying Pratt-Korbel.

Joseph Nee, a 35-year-old “well-established organized crime group member,” attempted to break into her home as one of two guys fleeing from an unidentified shooter.

As Nee attempted to enter the house, the gunman, who was wearing a balaclava and a dark jacket, approached and fired four times. One of the bullets passed through Cheryl’s wrist and into Pratt-Korbel’s body.

Nee, a burglar and drug dealer with a criminal record, was the target of the attack. In the year 2021, he received a license-based discharge halfway through his tenure.

The assault happened when the brothers of Pratt-Korbel were upstairs in the house. The Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool later declared Pratt-Korbel dead.

In order to board a black Audi employed as a getaway vehicle, Nee had to move away from Pratt-Korbel and her mother, which was known to Merseyside Police.

The next day, he was arrested for going against the conditions of his license and was then transported back to prison. Prime Minister Boris Johnson described the murder as a “horrific, senseless shooting.”

The home secretary, Priti Patel, visited the shooting scene and pledged extra support for Merseyside Police to reduce crime and access to guns.

Liverpool FC manager Jürgen Klopp called the killing “such a tragedy” and said, “If we can help, we will.”

Liverpool honored Olivia Pratt-Korbel during their game against Bournemouth, their first since the tragedy.

The ninth minute of a subsequent game between Liverpool and Everton saw tributes to her from both teams’ fans.
