The corpse of the missing 21-year-old Cameron was discovered in a field on Tuesday afternoon close to FM 2641 and CR 1900, according to the Lubbock Police Department.

Case Update: Missing Man Found Dead
Cameron Long’s remains were found in a field in North Lubbock County on May 9, 2023. The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office located the car he was driving on May 5th, four days before his death was discovered, after a welfare check complaint near FM 2641 and County Road 6200.
Due to media coverage of the case, law enforcement was able to link the vehicle’s finding to Long. Officers investigated the area again the next day and discovered Long’s corpse some distance away from where the car was discovered. On Sunday, May 7th, at 6:28 p.m., Long’s family called the Lubbock police to report him missing. On Monday, the police department released a statement pleading for assistance from the public.
Cameron Long’s mother, Jenna Long, said in an interview with EverythingLubbock.com that after speaking to her for nearly an hour after leaving the Rodeo 4 nightclub, she lost communication with him. Jenna said that Cameron’s roommates had told her they hadn’t seen him since they left the club or for a while thereafter.
According to the Lubbock Police Department, they have been working with the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office on an ongoing investigation ever since Long was discovered dead. They currently had no suspicion of wrongdoing.
