Norma Crane was born Norma Anna Bella Zuckerman on November 10, 1928, in New York City, New York, USA. Her Jewish-American parents gave birth to her. She used to be an American citizen of white ethnicity.

Crane grew up in El Paso and went to Texas State College for Women in Denton. She has had a strong interest in the film industry since childhood and decided to pursue a career as an actress.

Norma Crane lived to the age of 44. She died of breast cancer in Los Angeles in 1973. It was two years after her last picture, Fiddler on the Roof, was released in 1971.

Her ashes were interred in Los Angeles’ Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery. May her soul find peace.

Norma Crane- Relationship, Married Life

Norma Crane, the legendary late-night entertainer, was married to her lover turned husband, Herbert Sargent. Herb was an American television writer and producer best known for his work on The Tonight Show and Saturday Night Live. He died on May 6, 2005.

The couple married in 1961. However, by the time Crane died in 1973, the couple had divorced. They never had any children together. Herb had previously married Geraldine Brooks, whom he divorced in 1961, before marrying Norma.

Following Crane’s death, Herb married Katherine LeGrand Council Mellon in 1991, but their relationship ended after his death.

Norma Crane- Professional Career

Norma Crane began her career by making her Broadway debut in Arthur Miller’s drama The Crucible. She played Ellie Martin in the 1956 film Tea and Sympathy. All in a Night’s Work (1961), Penelope (1966), The Sweet Ride (1968), They Call Me Mister Tibbs! (1970), and Fiddler on the Roof (1971) are among her other film credits (1971).

Crane also appeared as a guest star in an episode of The Return of Widow Brown. In addition, she appeared in an episode of The Flying Nun.
