Noah stole the show as a sophomore when he tied the national record for tight end touchdowns with 11 and had a leading average of 16.5 yards per catch. This tied national record was also his high school record for tight end touchdown catches. For his outstanding efforts throughout the 2017 season, he was named Third Team All-Big Ten. Fant was named Preseason All American before the start of the following season.

On November 30th, 2018, he announced that he would be declaring for the 2019 NFL Draft. According to his overall college career numbers, he has 78 receiving receptions, 1082 receiving yards, and one receiving touchdown. Fant was taken 20th overall by the Denver Broncos in the first round of the draft. Noah made his professional debut against the Oakland Raiders in week one after being drafted.

His next game was in the fourth week, in a 26-24 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, when Fant caught two passes for 31 yards and scored his first career touchdown. His following game was a 38-24 win over Houston Texas, in which he had four catches for 113 yards and one score.
