Missy Elliot Is Rumored To Be Dating Women; Is She Lesbian

Missy Elliot

Missy Elliot, a.k.a. Melissa Arnette Elliott, is an American rapper who has gained notoriety for advocating for the acceptance of gay people. She has been assumed to be a member of the Queer community due to her attitudes regarding that group.

A Quiet Love Life

The well-known rapper appears to maintain a modest personal life. Since the majority of the allegations involve her dating women, none of them have been shown to be true. Even while the 50-year-old might have found it exhausting, happily, she didn’t have to do it often.

Missy Elliot had been linked to R&B artist Keri Hilson, according to rumors. However, Keri Hilson swiftly dispelled the idea when she tweeted that the two haven’t even had a proper introduction.

However, she continued to connect with women after this. The witty rapper wasted no time in putting a stop to rumors that the 50-year-old was wed to her singer girlfriend Sharaya J. She cleverly refuted the rumors by saying,

“I’ll say this when I’m not engaged! Now for the people who don’t have time for gossip, have a blessed weekend filled with moneymaking!”

And the 50-year-old has never ceased hearing rumors like these. In order to clarify her relationship with Missy, Eva Marcille of the Real Housewives of Atlanta was forced to come forward a few years ago.

“Let me be completely clear about this. I have never dated women, Missy, or any of these other folks; they are my pals”.

Although the public and the media may want to disseminate speculations about the 50-year-old dating ladies, none of the rumors are accurate. However, there are also no rumors that the rapper dates guys.

So even if it makes sense that she is said to be a lesbian, it is also unjustified for us to categorize her as one.

However, this has not stopped individuals from speculating on their own.

People believe that because she incorporates the concept of inclusivity into her songs, her sexuality speaks for itself.

A Gay/Lesbian Artist’s Idol

Missy Elliot has always been outspoken about the homosexual community, but she acknowledges that the LBTQIA+ community has found it difficult to make an effect in the rap industry.

She stated in an interview in the early 2000s that homosexual people would never be accepted in the hip-hop industry. She has become well-known among numerous LGBT artists, despite the fact that recent years have not been particularly easy for the LBTQIA+ community.

Additionally, Missy Elliott was mentioned as an icon for gay and lesbian artists by renowned author and lecturer Dr. Nikki Lane in her article Black Women Queering the Mic: Missy Elliott Disturbing the Boundaries of Racialized Sexuality and Gender, which was published in the Journal of Homosexuality.

Doctoral Degree and New Project Hinted at

When Missy received the honorary Doctor of Music degree from Berklee College of Music on May 11, 2019, her place as a Rap legend was cemented. At the same ceremony, Justin Timberlake and Alex Lacamoire, both musicians, received the same prize.

Missy shared her excitement over her newest mantel on Twitter. She dances while pointing to her diploma in the video. Rap fans and her peers reacted to the news by flooding her account with congratulations right away.

The Lose Control hitmaker revealed details of her upcoming major project, her first in nearly 14 years, in mid-April 2019. She has been working on it since 2018, according to an Instagram post.

A week after revealing her “next endeavor,” Missy made news for giving $25,000 to the students at her alma mater, Woodrow Wilson High School. Before she performed at the Something In The Water Music Festival, the charitable work was a tribute.
