Mike has kept his personal life private, but he is known to be married to Frances Struewing. On June 3rd, 1967, the pair married. Unfortunately, one of their eight children was killed in a car accident in 1993. Mike DeWine- Professional Career

He began his legal career as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney when he was only 25 years old. Mike DeWine was appointed as the County Prosecutor in 1976. He held the role for around four years before resigning. In 1981, he began working as a member of the Ohio Senate. Mike only stayed for a year before being elected to the United States House of Representatives from the Ohio District in 1983. He succeeded Bud Brown and remained in the role for eight years, until 1991. He resigned from his position and ran for Lieutenant Governor of Ohio in the upcoming elections.

In the same year, he won an election and was elected as Ohio’s 59th Lieutenant Governor. He worked for then-Gov. Voinovich for four years before departing in 1994 to become a United States Senator. He had been running for the seat since 1992 but had been defeated both times. Mike eventually defeated attorney Joel Hyatt in the 1995 elections. In 2006, he was forced to resign after losing the elections. Following that, he began teaching at his alma maters, Miami University and Ohio Northern University. In 2006, he also became the group chair of Corporate Investigations at the law firm Keating Muething& Klekamp.

Mike DeWine chose to run for Attorney General in 2009 and was elected as the 50th Attorney General. He took office in 2011 and served until 2014 when he was re-elected to the job. He served as Attorney General for another term before stepping down in January 2019. In the meantime, he has been campaigning for Governor of Ohio since 2018. He defeated Richard Cordray in the elections and was elected as the Republican Party’s 70th Governor of Ohio.
