Smith was 23 years old at the time of her first big appearance, in “Urban Cowboy”, a John Travolta drama western from 1980 in which she played Pam, a romantic interest of Travolta’s character, Bud. She later co-starred in other films of that era, including “All of Me” from 1984 and “2010”, a sequel to “2001: A Space Odyssey” from the same year.

Madilyn Grace Smith appeared in other movies on television too, including “Rehearsal for Murder”, “Pray TV”, and “Deadly Intentions”. On July 16, 1988, Smith married National Hockey League (NHL) checking winger Mark Anatole Osborne. Osborne appeared in 919 games and scored 531 points.

He started his professional career in 1974 in the Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament and established his skills. After that, he played in a number of hockey clubs, including the Niagara Falls Flyers during his college years, Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Rangers which he joined after popular Ron Duguay departed the team, and for the Winnipeg Jets. He was a coach of the Cleveland Lumberjacks for three years. During his fruitful career, he reached the Conference Finals twice, but both times failed to get his team to the Stanley Cup Finals.

Osborne resigned from professional hockey in 1998 and became the general manager of the Toronto St. Michael’s Majors. As of March 2020, he is employed as a scout for the Los Angeles Kings. Their first daughter, Abigail, was born in 1997, and their second daughter, Eliza, was born in 2000. Smith carried on acting under her maiden name.
