Judge Mablean, an African-American, was the family’s eldest daughter. She received her Juris Doctor degree in 1978 after attending night classes at Whittier Law School.

Mablean Ephriam is currently unmarried and of straight sexual orientation. Cassius Paxton, Maclean’s childhood buddy, turned out to be her husband. Mablean was only 13 years old when they married.

Tajamika Paxton is Ephriam’s daughter from her marriage to Cassius. She was born in the month of February 1972. Paxton is a well-known producer, screenwriter, and director. Ephriam stayed out of the affairs after her divorce and has never been in trouble.

Ephriam began her work as a Corrections Officer for the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ Women’s Division. She also started her own law firm after graduation, specializing in family law and personal injury. Soon after, she was appointed Prosecuting Attorney for Los Angeles.
In 1999, she was chosen to be the show’s arbitrator for Divorce Court, where she began working as the Judge and served until 2006. She even appeared in the 2005 film Diary of a Mad Black Woman. She has also appeared on the television show Celebrity Fit Club.
