Who is Lincoln Riley?

Lincoln Riley is the Current Head Coach of Oklahoma Sooners Football at the University of Oklahoma. He is also a former American Football Player.

Lincoln was born on the 5^th of September, 1983 at Lubbock, Texas, USA. He is the son of Mr. Mike Riley and Ms. Marilyn Riley. Riley’s parents reside in Muleshoe where they run a cotton warehouse business. He has a younger brother named Garret.

Garret is currently serving as an offensive coordinator at Southern Methodist University.

Lincoln Riley married Caitlin Buckley in the year 2007. Both the couple has two daughters Sloan and Stella. Before Riley’s marriage with Caitlin. Caitlin used to work as a kindergarten teacher.

Early Career

In his early career, Riley ran track at Muleshoe High School in Muleshoe (a town in west Texas). Lincoln started his high school career at defensive end. Later he moved to quarterback junior and senior sessions.

In the year 2002, Lincoln played quarterback at Texas Tech University as a walk-on. A year later Riley became a student assistant to Mike Leach.

Lincoln Riley served as an offensive coordinator for five seasons at East Carolina University under Ruffin McNeil.

Lincoln Riley Professional Career

On the 12^th of January 2015, Lincoln was appointed as offensive coordinator by Bob Stoops for the Oklahoma Sooners. Riley led Sooners to the 7^th ranked in the country and to the College Football Playoff during his first season at Oklahoma. Lincoln also won the Broyles Award. He was awarded as the nation’s top assistant coach.

Lincoln Riley was appointed as the head coach of Oklahoma Sooners as Bob Stoops retired on the 7^th of June 2019.
