Kristen came out as bisexual and was dating a girl when she met her future husband, Keith Hanson. Keith Hanson, an actor, and writer proposed to her for the second time in November 2015.

Kirsten and her future husband have been engaged for more than six years, but they have yet officially declared their engagement.
However, in an interview with PEOPLE following the announcement, she described her future husband as “wonderful,” saying:

“He’s the ideal companion for me, and I believe we’re evolving… “

Even though she is now engaged to her future husband, her four-year engagement with her then-fiancee is still a popular story. Kirsten Vangsness was on the verge of marrying her girlfriend.

Kirsten got engaged to Melanie Goldstein, her partner of more than three years, in 2009, not only breaking away from her family’s religious heritage but also teetering between an act of defiance against the prevailing laws and a show of love.

Because her family principles forbid her from marrying, let alone with a woman, the In My Sleep actor grew up knowing she wasn’t marriage material. She claimed at the time of her engagement:

“I never imagined I’d want to [marry]. Then, when you meet the individual, you think to yourself, ‘I want to marry you.’ I don’t care if it’s against the law!'”

However, the Chicago 8 actress didn’t stay single for long and married her now-husband, who was always there for her.
