Kim Kardashian’s behind-the-scenes journey into wearing the Marilyn Monroe dress at the Met Gala was highlighted in The Kardashians Season 2 Episode 6.
The Kardashians Season 2 has made it a point to address every controversy that the Kardashian-Jenner family members have been involved in recently, and the current episode takes us behind the scenes of Kim Kardashian’s decision to wear the Marilyn Monroe gown to the Met Gala 2022, among other things.
The show also mentions the Blac Chyna trial, which occurred earlier this year. Following Kourtney Kardashian’s Vegas wedding with Travis Barker and other events in last week’s episode, this week’s show covers several major milestones, including Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson’s baby, True Thompson’s, 4th birthday.
Khloe shares details about her co-parenting life with Thompson, who is not included in the episode. Kourtney and Travis’ Italian wedding preparations are also featured in the new episode, as the couple is shown hunting for their costumes.

The seventh episode begins with Khloe Kardashian preparing a pastel-themed birthday party for her four-year-old daughter True Thompson.
While Kim Kardashian and Kourtney are wearing non-themed clothing, the rest of the family is dressed in pastels.
During the bash, Kris can be heard advising Khloe about a phone call she received from Tristan in which he mentions he will be handling the party’s expenses, though Khloe then maintains that she will be handling her daughter’s bash.
Marilyn Monroe Gown
With the theme of the Met Gala being In America: An Anthology of Fashion, Kim Kardashian, who has been invited, can be seen debating with her stylist whether she should skip the event because she believes she won’t be able to outdo her previous Balenciaga appearance.
The SKIMS creator then unveils an idea she’s been experimenting with, asking, “What’s more American than Marilyn Monroe?”
Kim then confesses in her confessional why she wanted to wear Monroe’s legendary outfit when she sang the Birthday Song for President John F. Kennedy.
Kim went on to express her feelings for Monroe, saying, “She made herself into a total icon, and now everyone on the planet recognizes her.
Much appreciation.”
Later in the show, Kim may be seen trying on the Marilyn Monroe dress replica to see whether she will fit into the original. Kardashian also admits that she is willing to lose ten pounds to fit into the original dress after failing to do so the first time.
The show also includes a montage of Kim working out and eating well to get into shape for the Marilyn Monroe gown.
Kylie Jenner’s Met Gala ensemble
Kylie Jenner discusses her last-minute choice to attend the Met Gala after being out of the spotlight after the birth of her second child.
The cosmetics mogul added that her decision was partly influenced by the death of designer Virgil Abloh and her desire to support Off White in the aftermath of the designer’s death.
The show begins with Kylie considering her prospective Met Gala styles before deciding on the white, wedding-gown-like gown. Kylie mentions the Met Gala as an opportunity to honor him by wearing his creations in the confessional.
The Blac Chyna Case
The seventh episode also discusses the Blac Chyna trial, which made headlines after Rob Kardashian’s ex-girlfriend, Blac Chyna, sued Kim, Kris, Khloe, and Kylie for defamation.
Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe are seen having lunch together, and the SKIMS founder can be heard talking to their lawyer about Chyna’s case.
Khloe reveals in the confessional how Chyna is suing them for tampering with her contract relating to the Rob and Chyna show, which was not renewed for a second season.
Kim goes on to say that she hasn’t been to a trial since she was 14 years old.
The preparations for Kourtney and Travis’ Italian wedding
In the new episode, Kourtney Kardashian discusses putting her IVF journey to have a baby with Travis Barker on wait to focus on their forthcoming wedding in Italy.
In the episode, the pair also travels to Milan to go wedding shopping. The couple arrives at the hotel wearing matching red-leopard pajamas in a room that has been arranged to welcome them, featuring a photo of them from their previous Italy trip on the bedside table.
