JYP Entertainment, the agency representing Stray Kids, is the most recent in a long line of idol agencies to garner public interest.
The COVID-19 outbreak briefly caused the Idol Star Athletic Championship, popularly known as ISAC, to be suspended. This year, ISAC is expected to restart. The STAYs are not pleased with the group’s participation in this year’s ISAC, which will be filmed from July 30 to August 1. Stray Kids is one of the groups set to participate.
The new schedule has angered STAYs, who point out how busy Stray Kids’ calendar is already. The outstanding eight-piece group just finished its MANIAC global tour in the United States from June 28 to July 14; they still have a full schedule ahead of them with little downtime.
JYP Entertainment has been under fire from STAYs on social media for being cruel to its members and overworking them to exhaustion.
Supporters of Stray Kids are decrying JYP Entertainment’s rigorous schedule for the group by using the hashtag “Let Stray Kids Rest.”
STAYs are criticizing the group’s participation in this year’s ISAC since they have observed that their schedule is jam-packed with no breaks.
Following a brief break, Stray Kids will play again in Japan on July 26 and 27. The ISAC filming, which will take place from July 30 to August 1st, will prevent the NOEASY vocalists from taking more than two days off.
After that, on August 8, member Lee Know will return to MBC’s Music Core as an MC. Then, on August 10, 11, 14, and 20, all members will perform at more events.
Given that ISAC includes sports and physical activities and that some members are already in pain from strenuous physical exercise, STAYs are worried that members may further harm themselves. Hyunjin of Stray Kids previously suffered an injury when his right hand brushed up against the Oakland Arena door.
He participated in the group’s Oakland performance, but a later medical examination revealed that, while the injury is not significant, it is recommended to avoid strenuous activities, such as demanding choreography.
Hyunjin would be present for the entirety of the global tour, however, JYP Entertainment later emphasized that his involvement would be minimal. Even team members like Lee Know were worn out and struggling to continue.
Even Felix’s back problem, Chan’s wrist injury, and the majority of members utilizing painkiller cassettes have been noted by STAYs. Fans believe that JYP Entertainment made a mistake by allowing the group to participate in an athletic tournament, especially since they won’t have much time to unwind after ISAC before performing again.
Especially at a time when K-pop agencies are seeking to enhance idols’ mental health and well-being, STAYs have also dissed JYP Entertainment for overworking them to exhaustion.
To enable JYP Entertainment to give the members enough rest before their next important schedule, STAYs took it upon themselves to trend the phrase “Let Stray Kids Rest” on Twitter and other social networking platforms.
Fans are drawing comparisons between the timetable and the ISAC performance the group made after pre-recording for their “Levanter” promotions, which led to the members’ dozing off during the broadcast. JYP Entertainment has promised to reassess the group’s workload and give STAYs some downtime, and they are hopeful for it.

After a two-year break, the 2022 Idol Star Athletics Championship, or ISAC for short, is anticipated to return this Chuseok holiday. Jun Hyun-moo, Hongki from F.T.
