According to a friend who spoke with PEOPLE, Jussi-Pekka Kajaala and Adam Rippon met on Tinder.

Later, Adam revealed that he and Jussi talked for about seven months before they began to hang out more. The couple who faced some linguistic difficulties initially took things slowly because they were both extremely busy.

Adam would share these teasing Instagram posts before confirming his relationship with Jussi. For example, in April 2018, he posted a shirtless photo of the two hiking in Los Angeles’ Runyon Canyon with the caption, “Good boys Finnish first.”
