Jennifer Aniston earlier claimed that the divorce between John and Nancy hurt her family and that she had to live a long time apart from her mother. She said in an interview with Allure:

“I think my mum was destroyed by her divorce. Back then, it wasn’t like, “Go to counseling, speak to someone.” “Why don’t you begin micro dosing?” You’re going through life picking up your child and wiping your cheeks, and you don’t have anyone to help.

On July 24, 1993, John Aniston received his bachelor’s degree in theater arts from Pennsylvania State University, where he was also an active member of the fraternity Alpha Chi Rho.

After receiving his degree, he became an intelligence officer in the US Navy, serving at first on active duty in Panama and then in the reserves, ultimately rising to the rank of lieutenant commander.
