Jesse Williams Is Featured As Dr. Jackson Avery In “Grey’s Anatomy”

Grey’s Anatomy, the beloved medical drama series, is set to feature Jesse Williams in an intriguing cameo in the fifth episode. Dr. Jackson Avery’s vital part will be played by the actor once more.

On November 3, 2022, at 9/8c, the renowned ABC network will air the first episode of Season 19. The next episode is titled When I Get to the Border. The episode’s writer was Julie Wong, and Jesse Williams also served as the episode’s director.

Williams’ character Dr. Jackson Avery was created by Shonda Rhimes, the executive producer and creator of the well-known American romance drama series Grey’s Anatomy.

The character debuted in episode 5 of the sixth season, titled Invasion. When Mercy West Medical Center merged with Seattle Grace, Dr. Jackson Avery, played by Jesse Williams, joined Grey’s Anatomy as a surgical resident from that institution. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the actor’s return as Dr. Jackson Avery in season 19 episode 5 ever since ABC broke the announcement. The actor left the show earlier in the season.

The American actor, producer, director, and activist Jesse Williams, who is nominated for a Tony Award for his work on Grey’s Anatomy as Dr. Jackson Avery, first gained notoriety as Kwame in the Law & Order television series from 2006.

His most well-known performances outside of Grey’s Anatomy include Don “The Snake” Prudomme in the 2013 sports drama Snake and Mongoose, Holden McCrea in the 2012 horror movie The Cabin in the Woods, Todd Walkley in the 2019 slasher movie Random Acts of Violence, and Eric Medina in the film Beyond the Break.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, Dirty Dancing 3: Capoeira Nights, Brooklyn’s Finest, The Butler, Money, Selah and the Spades, Band Aid, Jacob’s Ladder, Secret Headquarters, They Die by Dawn, and a few other movies have Jesse Williams as a character.

Among the well-known TV programs in which he has appeared are Beyond the Break, The Washingtonienne, Greek, Seattle Grace: Message of Hope, Most Expensive, The Eric Andre Show, Power, Little Fires Everywhere, Station 19, and Rebel.

Williams is a producer on both the 2022 revival of Take Me Out and the 2021 short film Two Distant Strangers. Take Me Out won the prestigious Tony Award, while Two Distant Strangers won the prized Academy Award. For his work in Take Me Out, Jesse Williams was also nominated for a Tony Award for Featured Actor in a Play.
