The Rizzuto Show host Jeff Burton passed away on August 15 at the age of 55. The co-hosts of the radio show, Rizzuto, Tony Patrico, Moon Valjean, and King Scott, posted a statement on his passing on the official 105.7 websites.

They said that Jeff Burton, a dear friend and colleague, had passed away. In the statement, they also included the following to describe Burton’s persona:

“Jeff was liked and respected by everyone at 105.7 The Point for a multitude of reasons, including his compassion, humor, and generosity, to name a few.

Additionally, they stated that the radio host will be “honored” in the “coming months.” Then Rizzuto and co. pleaded with supporters to think of Burton’s “family”:

“The Rizzuto Show and our entire team will honor Jeff in the months to come, but for now, we kindly ask that you just think about Jeff’s family and the man who gave so much to our station and our neighborhood.”

In March 2021, the radio DJ received a prostate cancer diagnosis; he disclosed his condition that day. In the weeks that followed, Burton began his chemotherapy treatment; during this time, he continued to contribute to the program. Jeff Burton was sent to Missouri Baptist for two blood transfusions and a platelet transfusion, according to his wife Juli, who spoke on July 2.

Medical professionals expected that the sickness had progressed throughout his body despite being able to stabilize him. On Friday, July 8, he went back to his house after receiving hospice care. Having fought cancer for 17 months, Jeff Burton passed away on Monday.

Netizens were upset when the news was announced. People on the internet submitted old pictures of Jeff Burton and offered their condolences to his family. Several tweets appeared online:
