Janie Reed began her professional career with the Orange County Batbusters in 2008. Takeda’s team finished third in the Premier Girls Softball Tourney in 2010. Takeda batted.460 in the PGF tournament in 2011, guiding her team to fourth place. While studying journalism at the University of Oregon, Takeda maintained a 3.17 GPA. Takeda was the 19th softball player for the Ducks. She was an NFCA All-American and a Pac12 All-Star three times.
