Jamin’s football career began when he was still in high school. He has 131 tackles as a junior and 45 tackles as a sophomore, for a total of 302 tackles in his prep career. As a senior, he recorded 126 total tackles while also rushing 11 times for 50 yards and was selected Class AAA All-State honorable mention by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He concluded the season with 126 tackles, including 89 solo stops, and was ranked as one of the top 50 outside linebackers in the country by 247Sports. Davis began a semester early in January 2017 while enrolled at Kentucky. He appeared in all 13 games as a freshman, ending with 10 tackles.

Jamin has 32 tackles, one sack, two quarterback hurries, and one interception in 2019. In 2020, he observed a significant development in his game and was also an All-America Honourable Mention. Jamin was the only player in the FBS in 2020 with at least 100 tackles and three interceptions, finishing with 144 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and five interceptions. Following his performance, Davis stated his intention to enter the 2021 NFL Draft, and he was subsequently taken in the first round, 19th overall, by the Washington Football Team.
