Jake Bennett earned his main education at Bixby summer high School in Bixby, Oklahoma. He was selected by the Washington Nations in the 39th round of the MLB Draft 2019 and was regarded as the #1 left-handed pitcher in Oklahoma by Perfect Games. He was named an all-state pitcher in Oklahoma in 2019 after posting a record-breaking 1.46 ERA in high school.
Among his many accolades, he has been named a three-time Tulsa World All-World honorable mention. As a junior in high school, he struck out 54 batters in 35.2 innings and posted a 5-1 record with a 2.30 ERA. In 2017, he had a record-breaking ERA of 1.70 while playing as a sophomore, and as a freshman, he went 5-0 with a school-record ERA of 0.62.
Season 2020
Jake was named Freshman All-America by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper and made three career starts on the mound because of the COVID-19 pandemic’s short season. He went 3-0 with a 0.75 ERA and a shutout record. On February 19th, he made his first collegiate start and struck out 7 batters while allowing 4 hits, a walk, and 4.0 innings while pitching against Texas Southern.
On March 4th, he had a perfect frame with 4.0 and 9 strikeouts against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Also, On March 10, 2020, he had a 4.0 pitching score and went scoreless with three strikeouts, two hits, and two walks while making his debut at UT Arlington.
Season 2021

In the summer of 2021, he pitched for the Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod League, where he posted a 2.89 ERA in 7 appearances and 6 starts, striking out 20 hitters in 28.0 innings.
