Zoe Ball has announced her departure from the Radio 2 Breakfast Show. The radio broadcaster, however, is not departing the Breakfast Show for good.

On January 29, the 52-year-old announced on Twitter that she had covid and would be taking a sabbatical from hosting The Radio 2 Breakfast Show.

Ball also notified supporters that Vernon Kay would be filling in for her until she recovered from her sickness.

Vernon Kay, 49, also took to Twitter to announce that he would take over the Breakfast Show for a couple of mornings.

He wished Zoe Ball a speedy recovery and encouraged fans to tune in at 6:30 a.m. for the broadcast.

Vernon Kay appeared on the 30 January episode of the Breakfast Show.

What’s the deal with Zoe Ball? Update On Illness And Health

Zoe Ball, a British radio personality, is now on leave due to illness.

However, after declaring her sickness on January 29, the 52-year-old has not provided any health updates.

Ball is hopefully healing from the covid and avoiding social media for the time being.

She took over as host of The Radio 2 Breakfast Show on January 14, 2019, when Chris Evans left the show after nine years.

Following that, Ball was replaced in the Sunday mid-afternoon slot by Rylan Clark.

Ball has been presenting the show continuously for almost four years and just took a hiatus due to covid.

Once her health improves, she is anticipated to return to The Breakfast Show.
