Inside Alexi Mccammond Life, Her Parents

Alexi Mccammond

Alexi McCammond is a national reporter covering the 2020 election. After working for Bustle, she began working for Axios in 2017. Because of the admiration Alexi received at Axios for her reporting approach, she was quickly elevated from deputy news editor to national political reporter. The National Association of Black Journalists presented Alexi with the Michael J. Feeney Emerging Journalist Award in August 2019.

Alexi contributes frequently to CNN and MSNBC in addition to her work at Axios. This essay will examine Alexi’s origins, profession, love life, and conflict with Charles Barkley, a former NBA player.

Where was Alexi Mccammond born? Ethnicity, Nationality, Family, Education

In 1994, Alexi was born in Chicago, Illinois. Two siblings, a brother, and a sister shared her upbringing. Alexi had aspirations of becoming a doctor, but she was forced to give up those plans when her father lost his job and the money needed to cover her college expenses.

Fortunately, Alexi was awarded a scholarship to attend the University of Chicago to study sociology, romance languages, and literature. She began writing while still in college, and as soon as she graduated, she was hired by Bustle.

The bonds between Alexi and her parents and siblings are strong. She shared a flashback photo of her father on Instagram on June 4, 2020, along with the caption:

“Hello. Here’s my dad and I as a baby. He has far less hair now, and mine is equally unruly. But I can’t figure out what sets him apart from George Floyd in America, and that keeps me up at night. In the eyes of those who are supposed to defend us.

Alexi and former Biden staffer TJ Ducklo indirectly contributed to Alexi’s departure

TJ Ducklo and Alexi came to know one another while she was covering Joe Biden’s presidential campaign and he was Biden’s press secretary at the time. TJ was not in a committed relationship, whereas Alexi was. It didn’t stop her from falling in love with TJ.

Dating between the two began in November 2020. Alexi’s request to switch from following Congressmen and Vice President Kamala Harris to covering President Biden was granted by her superiors. She stated to People that she wants her personal and professional lives to remain separate:

“I didn’t hesitate to share my happiness with Axios in November that I’d discovered someone in TJ who shows up for me in a way I’d only dreamt for when my personal life had the potential to conflict with my business.”

TJ asked for and received the blessing of his superiors as well. Before the couple made their connection known to the world via People, it was said that their relationship was an “open secret” in Washington. TJ and I were fully aware of the unjust criticism that might be leveled at our relationship, but we also knew that we wouldn’t allow bullies to stand in the way of our happiness, Alexi said.

The couple admitted that their respective occupations presented several relationship difficulties, but they were adamant that they could make it work without jeopardizing their careers in any way. Sadly, TJ’s aggressive and misogynistic response to the relationship question caused him to leave the White House.

It is still unknown when Alexi and Matt Kuncman called it quits

Alexi had a relationship with photographer and former Axios employee Rob Groulx before she started dating Matt Kuncman. Compared to her relationship with Matt, Alexi’s relationship with Rob was more widely known.

Despite having a personal Instagram account, Matt occasionally visits Alexi’s profile. Alexi announced her engagement to Matt in a string of Instagram pictures and videos on June 8th. She included the caption below:

“On our fourth date, he made a joke about getting married, but we both realized by the second that things were not going well. Since we first met, I’ve felt more content, self-assured, and courageous than ever. He is my life partner, best friend, and rock when things become crazy. So, we’re getting married out of a sense of prudence.

The precise day that Matt and Alexi called it quits is unknown

Following a threat from former NBA player Charles Barkley, she spoke out against domestic abuse.

Alexi tweeted on November 19 that Charles Barkley, a former NBA player, warned her, “I don’t strike women, but if I did, I would hit you.” She explained how Barkley’s remarks were treated as a joke after she raised objections to them. Alexi discussed domestic abuse and the need for people to speak out against the vice using the experience as her example.

The next day, Barkley sent out a tweet expressing regret, writing, “It was an attempted joke that wasn’t funny at all. There is no justification for that, and I am sorry. In response, Alexi tweeted the following:

“Charles Barkley’s remarks to me are unacceptable. Violence is never threatened in jest, and no one deserves to be hit or threatened in any way. Silence just fosters a misogynistic culture. Furthermore, remarks of that nature are not worthy of record protection.

Following the uproar, users discovered offensive tweets McCammond sent out about Asians during her first year of college. Alexi removed the tweets and issued an apology in the following tweet.
