On Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at 3 a.m. ET, the epic historical drama series The Crown will debut its fifth season exclusively on Netflix.

The Crown’s fifth season will include Imelda Staunton, a well-known and well-liked English actress, as Queen Elizabeth II. Peter Morgan is the author of the series. Additionally, he wrote every episode of Season 5. The official summary for The Crown Season 5, which Netflix unveiled alongside the official teaser for the show’s fifth season:

This fictional dramatization, which was based on actual events, tells the story of Queen Elizabeth II and the significant political and private incidents that shaped her reign.

After seeing the actress in the teaser, viewers are eagerly awaiting Imelda Staunton’s portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II in Season 5 of The Crown. The actress spoke with The Binge Guide about performing a significant part in a recent Stellar Magazine interview.

In a Stellar Magazine interview, Imelda Staunton recalls her time spent filming Season 5 of The Crown. The 66-year-old actress claims:

“The performance was outstanding, and these people are both fascinating and challenging… Peter Morgan, the creator, also envisions a world hidden behind closed doors. However, it is not ludicrous.

Staunton continued by expressing her gratitude for accepting the illustrious role and how difficult the entire acting process had been for her. She stated that the cast works hard to “tread a very true line” and that it can be challenging to depict people who are “constrained” by their personal lives, responsibilities, and relationships. Imelda continued by saying that it was an honor to uphold the standards set by the past four seasons of the show.
