The young man was a varsity athlete in baseball, basketball, and football. He then went on to study business and finance at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Awtrey was also involved in the collegiate community.
As previously stated, the late man was the social chairman of the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity and the vice president of recruitment for the school’s Interfraternity Council. At the time of his death, the lost soul was a client services intern with Northwestern Mutual in Charlotte. Hunter Awtery also followed the Christian path.
