Several reports report that popular Nigerian gospel artist Sammie Okposo died early on Friday at the age of 51.
According to reports, the well-known gospel performer became unwell on Friday morning and died in an unidentified hospital in Lagos. The singer passed away from hypertension. Before his sad demise, he was scheduled to play in a Christmas performance among other well-known Christian performers.
His latest infidelity scandal made the news. Okposo sparked the internet after he admitted to cheating on his wife Ozioma on his verified Instagram profile in 2021.
Following the incident, the musician decided to stay away from ministry to retrace his spiritual steps before returning after a few months.
Sammie Okposo survived a fatal accident
The seasoned musician was traveling on Lagos’ 3rd Mainland Bridge when he almost escaped death in a horrible vehicle accident in May of this year. Even yet, Okposo felt he was protected from the devil and his adherents.

Before going to his final destination of Surulere, he acknowledged that he was moving at a speed of between 100 and 120 kph over the third mainland bridge that links to CMS.

Sammie said that as soon as he heard “SLOW DOWN,” he instantly slowed down to 60 km/h. His car’s propeller shaft produced a loud bang and pulled away ten seconds later.
